About Us
This website is all about The Beatles and the individual members of The Beatles. It is kept by Roger Stormo, who has been associated with the Norwegian Beatles fan club, "Norwegian Wood", since 1980. Feel free to quote from the site, but please give me credit and a link back to the original item. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This is not a news site per se, but if we hear about something that has yet to be reported by other Beatles news services, we tend to write about it. Apart from that, we will write stuff about the Beatles on an irregular basis at the whim of the author. A lot of our readers arrive at specific articles from internet searches or references to this site from forums and other Beatles sites. If you did, we encourage you to click here to access the main page, and also to indulge in our archives - you may find other posts that are interesting. You may also subscribe to news from the site and have each new issue delivered to your rss feed reader.

Some Beatle scholars date the Italian interview as taking place a few months earlier during the Beatles summer tour. Author J C Winn (Way Beyond Compare) suggests June 30 at the ABC Cinema in Great Yarmouth. Author Jörg Pieper (Beatles Film & TV Chronicle 1961-1970) also suggests June 30. Bamiyan (Beatles on Video) informs that the broadcast was presented by TV7 a few months later on Dec 23.

Beatles Beginnings
Volume One: Quarrymen – Skiffle – Country – Western
RANDB004
Quarrymen – Skiffle – Country – Western
Jazz, rocknroll, blues, music hall, guitar instrumentals, tin pan alley, rockabilly, dance band, soul, bolero, skiffle, trad, R&B, country, old-time, Broadway, doo-wop, folk, high school pop, Motown - the Beatles early influences are so wide-ranging that this series of discs could quite easily pass for an introduction to the history of twentieth century popular music. For the first six years of their career, the Beatles were essentially a covers band. When they were captured live on tape in two sets at the Star Club in Hamburg in 1962, they played thirty-two songs, only two of which were their own compositions. They established a repertoire of over 600 tunes, allowing them to tailor their set to the occasion for jazz clubs, strip clubs, church dances, folk clubs and working men’s clubs. Quarrymen One covers the period 1957-60, investigating skiffle and the other music that the individual members of the group grew up listening to before rocknroll burst on to the scene. Quarrymen Two will look at the band’s rocknroll influences.

isn't this on the "from these small beginnings" dvds somewhere?
From These Small Beginnings I think is the same as From Us To You. If so, they date the interview as June 30. However From These Small Beginnings has the concert footage ALSO dated as June 30, but Pop Go The Beatles (FAB Productions) dates the concert footage as Nov 1 (same as this clip). Also note that From These Small Beginnings has a totally different song soundtrack to this footage. So the answer to Anonymous' question is both YES and NO.
I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing.
I've never seen this video before.I know that the Beatles had a tape when they visited Ireland back 1963.I would like to see if there was anybody around that might have taped a concert in 1963.
I have an original photograph from this interview, from a slightly different perspective than the video camera. I guess if people cant agree on where the interview took place, the likelihood of finding who took it is remote!!
