Ed Sullivan Show remembered

The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, February 9, 1964
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will be taking part in the upcoming TV special honoring the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' first appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

Australia's TVTonight.com says Beatle widows Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison will also appear on the show, along with a number of other stars. Australian TV executive Brian Walsh says the lineup features Justin Timberlake, Adele, and Lady Gaga along with Pink, Bruno Mars, and Katy Perry. Walsh runs the network that will be airing the special in Australia.

"The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute To The Beatles" will air on CBS on Sunday, February 9th, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern - exactly 50 years to the day, date, and time of the original "Sullivan" broadcast. The show will be taped on Monday, January 27th - the day after the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

These concerts tributes have always seemed ridiculous. These artists are not fans of The Beatles, I would like to do some day see a tribute to artists of the height of the Beatles, where are his real friends and colleagues, Dylan, The Byrds, The Rolling Stones etc???
