I feel very sad. "Magic Alex" Mardas was a good friend to both John and I. He was not just talented, he had a big heart.love, yoko pic.twitter.com/Aw01TxUSLn

Paul and George seemed to distance themselves from Alex in later years. With George (in the Anthology book) particularly not being too fond of Apple's electronics 'genius'. And there are those who say that Alex turned John against the Maharishi. George Martin had little time for Alex either. Also Alex wasn't very nice to Cynthia and acted as John's 'messenger' during their split. But that says more about John (and Yoko) than it does about Alex....
Says more about you Martin. Yoko is just showing respect for someone from her past who has died.
When did I say it was wrong for Yoko to pay tribute to Alex? Nowhere.I said that at the time she and John (with Alex's help) made life hell for Cynthia. They were terrible to her (and to Tony Cox). So up yours...
Up yours. Lol.
IMHO, this guy was dodgier than a 9 bob note and was not just the harmless hippy eccentric he liked to portray himself as.It cannot be denied he played a major role in the eventual accrimonious dissolution of the band although his part within the epic that is The Beatles story has these days been largely forgotten.Anyway, RIP "Magic" Alex...He had an eventful life.
