Move over, Ms L!

Hi all, wondering why you are looking at this jumbled up page? This is due to the fact that Facebook didn't like our url since it starts with wog, so we have been forced to move the blog. This was some time ago, and we have placed a script which would automatically send you to our new location. Obviously, this hasn't worked for all of you, since we have just finished moderating some of your comments which appeared on this site recently, and not on our new (and improved!) site. So what we're saying is head on over to our new site, and update your bookmarks!

Quarrymen concert poster discovered

An original Quarrymen concert poster from 1959 has been discovered
An original Quarrymen concert poster from 1959 has been discovered by Pete Howard at Postercentral.com. The poster was recently acknowledged by Roag Best as genuine. The poster is for Saturday appearances of the band at the Casbah Club, which opened in 1959. The group had by then shed all of John Lennon's gang of childhood friends from his neighbourhood and was now made up by the core of what was to become the Beatles - John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, with additional member Ken Brown.

Pete Howard was the publisher of ICE magazine from 1987 to 2006 and was a contributing editor of Rolling Stone magazine, 1988-1995.

Here's Howard's video blog with his recent discovery:

Flaming Pie, you are correct! How did I miss that? In 2016 we caught a cab and I told the guy we wanted to go to the Casbah on Hayman’s Green in West Derby (and I pronounced it correctly) The guy gets to the middle of town and has to ask another cabbie where the Casbah is! 😂
