About Us
This website is all about The Beatles and the individual members of The Beatles. It is kept by Roger Stormo, who has been associated with the Norwegian Beatles fan club, "Norwegian Wood", since 1980. Feel free to quote from the site, but please give me credit and a link back to the original item. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. This is not a news site per se, but if we hear about something that has yet to be reported by other Beatles news services, we tend to write about it. Apart from that, we will write stuff about the Beatles on an irregular basis at the whim of the author. A lot of our readers arrive at specific articles from internet searches or references to this site from forums and other Beatles sites. If you did, we encourage you to click here to access the main page, and also to indulge in our archives - you may find other posts that are interesting. You may also subscribe to news from the site and have each new issue delivered to your rss feed reader.

Paul McCartney: Surprise Concerts in England
Yesterday it was announced that Paul McCartney will give two concerts in England just before Christmas: December 18th at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo London and December 20th O2 Academy Liverpool. Ticket information.
Following a year of massive international-headline-grabbing sell out stadium shows, Paul McCartney today announces he will bring 2010 to a close with two very special intimate and personal homecoming shows.
Paul and his band are planning two spectacular nights of celebrating and rock n roll, the first of which will see Paul return to Londons HMV Hammersmith Apollo for his first full solo show there in 35 years, his last appearance being with Wings in September 1975; Paul first appeared there with The Beatles on December 24th, 1964 for The Beatles Christmas Show.
The second concert will be in Liverpool at the O2 Academy.

Will someone please explain to me how it is that, with tickets on sale at 10am, they are sold out by 10:30 and immediately hundreds are being sold on sites like Ticketmaster for obscene amounts? I tried really hard to get some form the HMV ticket office but could not get through. I could buy 4 tickets today for £1000 - or I could get my house decorated. Not fair
Well Tony, the world has never been a fair place. Money doesn't talk, it swears. I also heard that the expensive packages that included early entrance, soundcheck and merchandise went a little slower than the rest. Money will always get you in.
You're right, of course. But the fact is - it used to be entirely possible to go and see these top acts for a reasonable amount of money, and now it's not. And quite honestly, I think that people who pay these exhorbitant prices are partly to blame. If someone is stupid enough to pay over £1000 for a concert, then I suppose you can't entirely blame the touts for cleaning up.
