This is not a news site per se, but if we hear about something that has yet to be reported by other Beatles news services, we tend to write about it. Apart from that, we will write stuff about the Beatles on an irregular basis at the whim of the author. Move over, Ms L!
Hi all,
wondering why you are looking at this jumbled up page? This is due to the fact that Facebook didn't like our url since it starts with wog, so we have been forced to move the blog. This was some time ago, and we have placed a script which would automatically send you to our new location.
Obviously, this hasn't worked for all of you, since we have just finished moderating some of your comments which appeared on this site recently, and not on our new (and improved!) site.
So what we're saying is head on over to our new site, and update your bookmarks!

New Yellow Submarine picture disc
New picture disc release
July 6, 2018, there is going to be a new picture disc release of the single "Yellow Submarine" b/w "Eleanor Rigby". This will be a limited edition, although we have no figures. The vinyl picture disc will be housed in a card sleeve with a die-cut hole on the front to show the disc.
Originally released as a single in 1966, this new release ties in with the 50th anniversary of the "Yellow Submarine" film, which premiered in the summer of 1968. A number of products featuring the cartoon designs from the film have been licensed from Apple Corps Ltd. this year, including clothing, figurines, a graphic novel, a book and other paper ephemera.
For a moment I thought I'd skip this since I have both the 1986 picture disc and the replica single in the 2011 RSD box... but on second thoughts I ordered it anyway. ;-)
Beatlemilio: The copyright text on the back of the pictured cover lists a 2015 production date for the sound recording, which seems to indicate that this single will use Giles Martin's 2015 "1" remix.
Another (Record Store) Day, another rip off, and another rehashed couple of '1' tracks... What would have been great would have been a remastered version of the full and uncut 'It's All Too Much' with the full 'Flying/Aerial Tour' on the B-Side as a new Apple Records 12' single.... Some hope they'd be that adventurous, eh?

Which master will be used for this release? 1999 Songtrack remix, 2009 remaster, 2015 "1" remix or a new one mix?

Thanks, Ole M. Olsen. I saw the post on my mobile first and I didn't notice this detail about the copyright.

Eleanor Rugby B side is a REALLY FAST mix. Not sure if that's an error or a new mix???
